What are cookies and what use do we give them?
Cookies are small text files created when the user visits a certain website and thus allow the recognition of the device (PC, tablet, smartphone, etc.) on a subsequent visit. The collection of some information relating to the browsing experience is also enhanced, which may optimize some features in future visits, for example: language, browsing preferences, colors defined in certain configurations, etc.
What type of cookies will we be able to use?
- Session cookies: These are temporary cookies that will be deleted from your system when you end your session. Consequently, no cookies will remain on your system.
- Permanent cookies: These are stored in the system and are reused whenever the user visits the website again. A cookie called permanent has a longer expiration date and is deleted from the system after that.
- Functionality cookies: allow you to recover usage preferences, thus preventing the user from remaining in an active session between visits or from having to type the username on each visit. Regardless of the nature of the cookies, their sole purpose is to do the above and never to collect personal information.
- Personalization cookies: allow the website to recognize user choices when they use our services. For example, the language you are browsing in or the source of the request to automatically set the display language. When accessing the SIRO website, these cookies allow: identifying the language in which the content is presented; whether or not to display thematic popups and/or branch landing pages. These cookies do not track any websites other than SIRO.
- Third-party cookies: these originate from a domain other than the SIRO website. For example, when the user views video(s) hosted on YouTube or any other social network. SIRO has no control over third-party cookies, and therefore advises users to consult the websites that hold these cookies to assess how they are used and how they can be managed.
