SUBSTRATE PALLETS' WEIGHT

  • The weight of the substrate pallets shown is merely illustrative due to the moisture content in the substrate.

RESIDUE MANAGEMENT AND RECOVERY

  • Leal & Soares S.A. has a Forest and Agricultural Residue Recovery Centre. It promotes the organic recovery of the residues through the natural composting process for substrate production.

DISPOSABLE GLOVE

  • Each package of SIRO granulated fertiliser has a disposable glove for proper product use.

IN HARMONY WITH THE ENVIRONMENT

  • Products made with raw materials which comply with the environment protection requirements and respect for the consumer throughout their lifetime.

SIRO PERLITE

  • Its low specific weight and a high pore volume create excellent ventilation conditions for the substrates, allying an effective drainage to a natural moisture level.

PACKAGING STANDARD CEN 12580

  • Our substrate packaging process is regulated by the CEN standard (Comité Européen de Normalisation), certified in Portugal by the National Quality Institute (Instituto Nacional da Qualidade - INQ).

SIRO CLAY

  • It increases the development of the clay-humic complex - the main responsible agent for creating richer substrates / soils at a nutritional and structural level.

MICROBIAL LIFE

  • Energy and nutrition support of a beneficial and diverse microbial life, stimulating the entire substrate / soil ecosystem, promoting humification and mineralisation, and defending plants from some diseases caused by microorganisms.

SIRO ACTIVATOR

  • Seaweed extract with a Biostimulator effect over plant metabolism, creating conditions for a balanced development and at the same time strengthening its defences against critical situations - heat and water stress, pests and diseases.

SIRO HYDRO-CONTROL

  • Moistening agent with the capacity of increasing water retention power as well as promoting a quick and homogeneous infiltration into the substrate / soil. Moisture levels increase in the radicular area for longer periods.

SOURCE OF HUMIC SUBSTANCES

  • Humic and fulvic acids have an extremely high specific surface, giving them an extraordinary reactivity. As a consequence, these polymers are the basis of the majority of the reactions that take place in the solid-liquid soil interface, directly or indirectly activating plant growth and resistance.

SIRO FERTI-SOLUBLE

  • High quality mineral fertilisers that strengthen a biostimulating effect on plants, thanks to the supply of easily soluble and absorbable nutrients.

MICRONUTRIENTS / TRACE ELEMENTS

  • Basic elements in plant nutrition, required in small quantities.

SIRO BLEND

  • Special range of granulated fertilisers based on a capsulated homogeneous product with a biodegradable polymer through multiple reactive layers, assuring a slow and constant release of nutrients in the capsule during 3-6-9 months. Each granule has a balanced ratio of macro and micronutrients which nourishes plants throughout their life cycle.

POTASSIUM

  • It increases the consistency and hardness of plant tissues and its resistance to frosts and droughts. It improves the size, colour, taste of vegetables / fruits / flowers as well as their conservation and stimulates their flowering process, etc.

PHOSPHORUS

  • It promotes plant robustness in terms of rooting and disease resistance.

NITROGEN

  • It seeks to stimulate vegetative development in plants by promoting a good root, branch and leaf growth. Nitrogen is essential in the early stages of plant development and equally during their growth.

MACRONUTRIENTS

  • Basic elements in plant nutrition, needed in great quantities.

NUTRIENTS

  • Vital mineral elements in plant nutrition without which plants could not complete their life cycle.

LABORATORY AND TESTING ROOM

  • Accreditation process of the substrates' quality parameters such as pH, salinity and texture while they are being produced in real time. Equiped with a sample archive where samples of all substrates sold are kept for 2 years.

RESEARCH CENTRE

  • Where substrates and techniques for plant growth are studied and developed with the aim of antecipating the clients' needs.

PHYTOSANITARY GUARANTEE

  • Humus Siro® is obtained through Composting - biological decomposition and forest residue stabilisation by the action of microorganisms under conditions that allow the development of thermophilic range temperatures (70º C) for 12 months.

WHAT IS BIOMASS?

  • Biomass is "the biodegradable fraction of products, waste and residues from forestry as well as related industries, from agriculture (including vegetal substances), gardening, among others", according to the Directive 2001/77/EC of 27 September 2001.
  • It is noteworthy that there are several biomass types not related to us. Examples include agricultural residues, animals substances, urban and industrial residues.
  • Biomass is used in energy production resultant from processes such as organic material combustion produced and accumulated in an ecosystem; however, not all primary production increases the ecosystem's plant biomass. Part of that accumulated energy is spent by the ecosystem on its own maintenance. Its advantages are its low cost, its renewability, allowing residue reuse, and being a less polluting substance than other energy forms such as fossil fuels.
  • Burning biomass releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, but this compost had been previously absorbed by the plants that originated the fuel, so its impact on CO2 emissions is null.
